Reboot
I'm going to keep this short and sweet today.
We've been overthinking and overdoing ever since 2025 started (ha, who am I kidding, we started way before that), and we are overloaded.
Therefore, on behalf of no power vested in me, I hereby grant us permission to reboot today.
The definition of reboot is to shut down and restart.
That goes beyond just chilling and relaxing.
Today's National Day of Rebootedness is about turning it off.
Whatever "it" is for you.
Shut it down.
Turn it off.
The "news"
The reels
The never-ending chores
The new list of to-dos you didn't do and probably ain't gonna do
The if-onlys or what-if-ings
The nagging worries about tomorrow
Turn it off.
Do something today that quiets your mind and brings you peace.
Or, actually, better yet, don't do a dang thing.
Stare at the wall if you have to.
Whatever it takes for your operating system to get the rest it needs, I give you permission to make it happen.
I now announce the commencement of the shutdown to officially begin.
See you tomorrow when we restart.
Powering down.......
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Psalm 91:1
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
