Even Though

A friend of mine dropped a bomb of wisdom in a text she sent me when I was telling her we would be beginning our path of Worthy.

It went something like this:

"Forget about asking yourself if you are worthy - it is an overthought adjective, and you will always come up short. Instead, think about what you are worth and do something good with your powers to help others and make things better."

Boom. Mic drop.

Contemplating our worthiness keeps us stuck in a cycle of self-absorption and negative thinking.

But using our lives - which God deemed worthy to create - to make a difference?

Thinking of others and getting out of our heads? What a novel idea!

What a spectacular way to use the skills and talents God gave us!

What, on God's green earth, are you waiting for?

You got them special powers that no one else has, and you better use them because we NEED you at your fullest capacity of awesomeness.

Now more than ever.

Even though you may not feel worthy, do it anyway.

Even though you don't feel equipped, do it anyway.

Even though you don't feel ready, do it anyway.

Even though you feel scared, do it anyway.

Even though you feel tired, do it anyway.

Even though you don't think you can, do it anyway.

And when you do it - don't question whether you were worthy enough to have done it.

Be thankful.

Be proud.

Be grateful.

Look out at the world around you.

So many of us hide in our lonely worlds, isolated in our self-focus and overthinking, afraid to go for it and live up to our worthy potential.

Not today friends, not today.

Get out there and use some of the gifts God gave you to make a difference for others.

It may feel awkward and even a bit scary, but trying one brave thing today might make all the difference in the world.

Even though...you go!

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

James 3: 17-18

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
