Extrication
As a redeemed Child of God, you have been extricated.
Stick with me here.
Extricate means to free or remove from an entanglement or difficulty, and it comes from the Latin word extricatus:
Ex - out of
Tricae - trifles of perplexities
God's redemption can free us from being all tangled up with the things of the past and the worries about the future.
I'm not sure what we will do with all this extra time. I know I've blocked a lot of hours of my day for regret, worry, and fear (RWF).
But if God extricated us from our mucky pit and covered us with the truth and protection of His love and forgiveness, our redemption is undeniable.
God's redemption sealed the doorway to our pit; the only way back in is if we dig and crawl our way back down.
I don't know about you, but that seems like an insult to all that God has done and all we have worked so hard for.
I ain't got time for that nonsense anymore!
So, I just deleted the recurring RWF (regret, worry, fear) event off my calendar and exhaled as I watched my day open up with possibilities.
Now, I have time to reach out to someone who needs love, hope, and encouragement.
Now, I have time to care for myself and those I love.
Now, I can fill my thoughts with hope, faith, and trust and remind myself of all the ways God has shown up and made a way.
Now, I can hear the whispers and songs of God's love and guidance leading me forward with all that RWF noise gone.
I feel like the world just got bigger and brighter!
How about we stretch out and enjoy this expanse of time and energy God's redemption has provided?
What will you do with all this time and space you have post-extrication?
I'm sure God has some awesome ideas!
Psalm 32:7
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Psalm 34:4
I sought the LORD, and He answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
