Good Enough

Do those words bring a sense of relief or do they trigger feelings of weakness and laziness?

We have been conditioned to strive for perfection, haven't we? Nothing less than perfect greatness seems like, well, not all that great.

But it's all just a fool's errand. Perfection is elusive, evoking prideful insecurities that often take away the joy of the journey itself.

What if we could rest in our imperfections? What if we could rest in our weakness, knowing God holds all the perfection and strength we need?

Now, doesn't that feel better?

Today, if the early days of a new year find you improving and resolving, remember that good enough is just that. Good. Enough.

Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
