Seeker

Before the go-go-go begins, let's take a deep breath in this moment together.

It feels good to just pause for a moment.

I know, I know -  the thought of just sitting and resting seems like a waste of time.

We are seekers and doers, and we got stuff to do!

Healthy seeking and actively participating in our lives is an incredible opportunity—learning, growing, changing, and finding wonderful adventures make living so incredible.


Seeking has the best intentions—to make a difference, help, be our best, create a wonderful life for ourselves and our families, be admired, accepted, and loved, and feel like we are enough and that we really matter.

It's that last part where things get tricky.


Things can become unhealthy when we seek to find something we believe we inherently lack or do not have because of some root of unworthiness within us. 


This feeling of lack can spark the hop-on, hop-off hustle of "if-then" seeking.

If we aren't careful, we can find ourselves constantly hopping from one thing to the next, getting pushed and pulled in every direction. 

We overwork, overcommit, over-own and over-yes ourselves into exhaustion.


We often drown in good deeds and works until we have lost ourselves. 


What exactly are we doing all of this for? Why? What are we seeking?


Well, we aren't quite sure exactly. But we know this cycle of overdoing and resenting isn't working. 


So, let's pause for just a moment. 

Take a deep breath again and read these words out loud:


That which I seek has already been found.

My worth, value, and significance do not lie out there.

They are not lost.

They are within my spirit.

Right here, safe and sound. 

I do not need to seek and find anywhere but within to find what I long for, as God has already provided me with everything I need.

Take a moment and let your heart be filled with gratitude for all God has given you.

God created you and has placed all the gifts and skills deep within your soul, and you are absolutely stunning, just as you are. 

Take stock of all you might be doing, owning or committing to and, perhaps, consider trimming down a bit so you can rest and enjoy the blessings and beauty of this fantastic life. 


Keep growing, learning, and changing, and stay rooted in the fact that you are a found and beloved child of God. 

God has found you, and He is never, EVER going to let you go.

Psalm 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.


2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 


Psalm 23:1-3

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.


1 Peter 5: 6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
