Shadow Boxing

Along our journey together, the devil has done his best to knock us out.

  • Right hook - You will never be enough

  • Uppercut - No one will ever love you

  • Jab - You could never be forgiven for what you've done

  • Cross - Nobody wants you

  • Front kick - You are alone and abandoned, and no one is coming to find you

  • Left hook - It's all for nothing; you are worthless, and everything you've gone through has no purpose

For so long, we believed those lies from the pit of hell.

We felt each of those blows - one after another.

We tried to fight back on our own, but it was just too hard. We fell to our knees, nearly knocked out from all the hits.

Let me remind you of something. God heard your cries for help, and He came to save you and tell you the truth about who and whose you are.

He countered every attack and fought back on your behalf with his armor, truth, and love.

DING DING DING

God knocked that devil right out.

So how come we keep on fighting?

Continuing to fight a battle God has won is like boxing with shadows.

It's like we have phantom pain. We have believed those lies for so long that it feels weird not to fight.

But isn't that just absurd?

If we believe in God and trust in His love, then the fight is over, and the battle is won.

It is time to leave the ring - once and for all.

Who's ready to take the gloves off and step forward in freedom?

Let's GOOOOOOOOOO!

Deuteronomy 20: 2-4

When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and address the army. He shall say: "Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory."

Exodus 14:14

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

2 Chronicles 20:15

He said, "Listen carefully, all [you people of] Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: "Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's."
