Thank You

I love a good Thank You note.

I know it's a lost art these days, but I still appreciate the effort of showing heartfelt gratitude through a handwritten note and someone taking the time to share their feelings.

After all, the world needs more kindness and thankfulness, that's for sure.

You know who I haven't thanked in a while? God.

I would send Him a really pretty handmade note, but I don't know the specific address for Heaven, and with the economy the way it is these days, I don't think I could afford the postage,

So, God, I hope you get this.

Dear God,

Thank You.

  • Thank you for loving me into existence.

  • Thank you for never leaving me, even when I didn't know you were there.

  • Thank you for forgiving me and giving me more chances than I can even count to start again.

  • Thank you for unconditionally loving me, even though my thoughts and behaviors are not worthy of your love.

  • Thank you for Jesus, who still teaches me how to love, forgive, and serve.

  • Thank you for giving me the family I was brought up in. Despite the drama and dysfunction, they gave me strength, wit, perseverance, and the ability to care for others.

  • Thank you for the amazing friends you have placed in my life. They are all fabulous and make me want to be a better human.

  • Thank you for the gift of humor; it has gotten me through some tough times and allowed me to make other people laugh and feel good.

  • Thank you for my husband, who remains calm amidst my chaos and believes in me always.

  • Thank you for my children. How you formed perfection out of our DNA, I will never know. They are the best of both of us and are the most amazing gifts you could have ever given me.

  • Thank you for all the good times and the blessings; I know I take them for granted. I'm trying to do better.

  • Thank you for the hard times. They've made me wiser, stronger, kinder, and more aware of the pain and needs of others. I know I've whined and complained; I'm trying to do better.

  • Thank you for the ability to withstand pain and loss and stay present and clear in the hardest of times. It was You who got me through. I can never thank you enough.

  • Thank you for turning my broken, stubborn, foolish, unworthy self into something beautiful that can be used for good.

  • Thank you for helping me see things through Your eyes of love and mercy.

  • Thank you for this beautiful Earth I live on, it really is spectacular.

  • Thank you for helping me be brave enough to finally write this book.

  • Thank you for being You.

That felt so good. I'm a slobbering mess over here!

I highly recommend writing God a Thank You note today or every day, for that matter.

And hey, if you happen to have His address and could send it to me, that would be awesome!

Following up on yesterday’s thoughts and the need to find happiness, well, what do ya know, a thankful heart is a happy heart.

Psalm 17:7

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.

Psalm 69;30

I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

1 Thessalonians 5:16

Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
