Tracker

One of the conveniences of today's technology is the ability to track someone's location on your phone.

While considered stalking by some or invasions of privacy by others, I find this modern marvel saves oodles of time and provides peace of mind.

No longer must I ask my husband when he will be arriving (I'm an if you're not early, you're late kind of girl, so my commitment to promptness makes me a bit of a nag) or wonder if my grown babies are home safe and sound.

I'm sure they are grateful for my watchful eye and caring oversight.

I'm sure of it.

I know I am grateful that God is tracking my location.

I am relieved to know that God will always be able to find me no matter where I go.

When I make a wrong turn or get lost, I feel better knowing God will help me find my way.

Wherever I go, God is there.

Even when I try to hide my location, God sees me.

Even when I try to speed up or run away, God never lets me out of His sight.

Sometimes I wish God would send me an alert saying, "No, don't go that way, go this way."

God knows I've needed some recalculating along this journey.

He's tried to give me some good directions, but I struggle paying attention with verbal instructions.

Far too often, I just went ahead and drove right past the warning signs that said "Dead End," "Road Closed," or "Bridge Out."

Sure, I could have previewed my route and followed the directions, but then I would have missed out on the lessons and the wild stories I'll be able to tell while rocking on a porch swing when I'm old and gray.

I probably could have saved much time and gas money if I had just listened to those directions.

Oh well, I'll get there eventually.

We all will.

In the meantime, wherever this journey takes us, it feels so comforting to know that someone is tracking us and is always there to rescue and redirect us when we are ready to listen to and follow the directions.

I am so grateful that God never leaves or gives up on us.

Thank you, God, that no matter where we go, You are there.

And even on our journeys filled with wrong ways, circling roundabouts and u-turns, we once again are filled with gratitude as we say:

Thank You, God, for this beautiful life you have given us.

Psalm 12: 5-8

The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
