Unsung Heroes

Unsung heroes are all around us.

You won't see them on an award show or read articles about their selfless service.

Unsung heroes move about the world unnoticed yet unwavering in their work to serve others.

They are the ones who fight for our freedom as they willingly leave their families and the comforts of home to keep us safe.

They are the ones who run into danger and disaster to save lives and help.

They are the ones who clean up our messes and fix our wrongs.

They are the ones who wrestle with demons and nightmares while we sleep safe and sound because of their service.

These unsung heroes sacrifice themselves for others.

But they don't do it for fame or accolades.

They serve because God created them for service.

I can think of the heroes in my life who had come to my rescue when I needed them the most and how, in almost every instance, they never did it for praise or notoriety.

Unsung heroes simply help because help is needed.

I bet you have done something to help someone else, and you probably think it's no big deal.

When God sought a helper, you raised your hand and said, "Here I am, Lord, send me."

And that, my friend, is a very big deal indeed.

You may not be fighting for our country or saving lives, but you are answering God's call to serve

another, making you a hero in my book.

Thank you so much - for everything.

Keep raising your hand, this world needs you more than ever!

Say it with me, “Here we are Lord, send us!”

Let's seek out the unsung heroes today and reach out to them in gratitude for running into what most of us run away from.

Together we can spread some kindness and gratitude and thank as many heroes as possible today for everything they have done and still do to care for and protect us.

Thank You, God, for this beautiful life you have given us.

Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"

And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Psalm 91:14-16

"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."

John 15: 12-13

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
