You Are Here

You woke up this morning.

It's a miracle when you think about it.

At the deepest cellular level, all the intricate parts of your body work together to allow for rest and then get you moving and ready to start the day (with a bit of help from some coffee).

Think of all that is happening inside your body to keep it going. It's genuinely astonishing to try and comprehend the miraculous functionality of your body from head to toe.

You are alive.

Not to be a bummer, but remember, that will not always be the case.

Most days, we take for granted what a gift it is to simply be alive.

Rather than being grateful for every second and finding joy in the moments we are in, we look back with regret, long for things to be what they were, compare ourselves to others, yearn for things that have not yet come to pass, and wish we could be different or better.

We foolishly procrastinate joy and squander the precious moments we have right here and now.

In our "if ____ would have happened or will happen, then I would be or could be ______" thinking, we are missing the gratitude of being here, now.

We are loved, we are enough, we are forgiven, and we are wanted.

AND

We are ALIVE!

YOU are ALIVE!

So, my precious and cherished shmoopie poo, do not squander one moment of today looking back in regret, comparing or longing for something else, or looking far off in the distance to anticipate joy.

Allow the joy of life to fill you now.

In this moment.

Just as it is.

Just as you are.

I got the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart.......where?

Right here, right now.

Isaiah 43: 18-19

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Psalm 16:11

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

John 15:11

I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.

Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.
