Bonded For Life
Oh beloved, how wonderful is it to walk this path on our journey with the blessed assurance that nothing we do can separate us from the love of God.
Nothing.
Zip.
Nada.
God knows we have wandered and even ran away sometimes, but He never gave up on us or stopped loving us.
Yes, even with all that we have done.
Yep - even that.
We are His beloved children.
Always and forever.
God's love for us is the force that keeps bringing us back to Him.
Jesus' sacrifice is the glue that keeps us bound in love forever.
What a relief to know that we will never walk alone.
What an honor to be loved so much that nothing we do can keep us away.
Seriously. How does God do it?
We can be such stubborn sassafrases and even with all our knowledge and faith, we can fall prey to temptation, ego, and fear.
Heck, sometimes we aren't prey, we are the instigator.
But God is always with us, calling us back.
Forgiving us, washing us clean, helping us back on the path to begin again.
Our bond with God is unbreakable.
And what can we do in return for this never-ending, unconditional love given to us?
We can love God in return with all we have and dedicate the remaining time to stick close to Him and follow where He leads.
Where that is exactly, I'm not quite sure.
But we can be willing to get quiet and listen to where He beckons us to go.
The specific directions of the beloved's way forward are not on the map - I just checked.
Even though we may not know where we are going, we can be sure that God will surround us and love us.
No matter where we go, we are bonded for life.
Thank God for that.
Romans 8: 38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Psalm 136:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
