Clean Plate
Come along with me on a little meditation this morning.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself sitting at a table God has prepared for you.
The table is set with beautiful decor and is filled with the blessings, gifts, skills, and talents God has given you.
Whoa, there is a LOT of stuff on this table.
You see the dreams God has given you and the nudges to move you into alignment so that you can use those specialties in the world.
You admire all the gifts God has bestowed upon you - from the really big things to the smallest things you take for granted.
You look at all the blessings in front of you and are filled with gratitude to God as you see everything displayed with such care and beauty.
It's now time to put all of these goodies on your plate.
This is no ordinary plate we are talking about.
It's one of those huge platters you see at a feast with food and goodies overflowing.
So, pile it all on there like a grateful glutton.
Take your time - you have copious amounts of yummy goodness to fit on there!
Imagine all those gifts, talents, skills, and blessings just overflowing and spilling over.
Now comes the good part.
It's time to clean that overflowing plate in front of you.
Thank goodness you are wearing elastic pants; you might just burst from all this amazing goodness God has prepared for you!
Envision yourself using every one of those gifts until nothing is left on that plate.
Nothing is squandered.
You are not afraid to use what God has prepared for you.
You do not overthink or shrink back.
After all, you wouldn't want all of this to go to waste now, would you?
And look at all those blessings. There is just too much for one platter to handle!
But we have to clean our plates, so how about we take some of these blessings overflowing and give some goodies away?
By giving our blessings away, we can make some room for even more to share!
Look at you!
You did it!
There's nothing left on that plate but a few tiny crumbs.
Good job!
Okay, now open your eyes.
I'm just impressed that you could read this while your eyes were closed.
I mean, seriously, is there anything you can't do?
This meditation can serve as our guide for how we can live life with our eyes wide open.
Aware of and grateful for our blessings, willing and able to use every bit of the gifts God has given us, and more than happy to share what we have with others.
Thank You, God, for this beautiful life you have given us.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
1 Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
Psalm 139: 13-18
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand - when I awake, I am still with you.
