Morning Scan

It happened again.

We woke up.

Thank you, God, for another day to live this life and make you proud.

Before we begin the race of our daily hustle and bustle, let's do a quick morning scan of gratitude.

Thank you, God, for our brains, which you have designed with instinct and wisdom to help us make choices that keep us safe, align us to the purpose you have for us, and allow us to say yes when we mean it and no when we don't.

Thank you, God, for our eyes and ears to look and hear for things we can do to help make the world better and avoid the things that are not your will for our lives.

Thank you, God, for our necks that help us turn away from things that are not good for us and turn to you, our loving creator, who cares for us and leads us forward.

Thank you, God, for our shoulders, which help us carry burdens for those we care for and help them through life's storms.

Thank you, God, for our arms that carry the gifts you have given us to have, hold, and share in this life.

Thank you, God, for our hands that reach out to hold the hands of those we love so no one walks alone.

Thank you, God, for our hearts that love You and strive to love others without conditions, fears, or expectations.

Thank you, God, for our legs that walk away from the ashes of our pain and sin and toward your light and salvation.

Thank you, God, for our feet that trample the lies that the enemy tries to ensnare us with, and that give us the ability to run towards your truth.

I might have missed a body part or two, feel free to continue the scan as you see fit.

It's pretty amazing when you think about the masterful creation that you are and the privilege you have to walk upon this Earth and live the life God designed for you.

We have much to be thankful for and much to do in this life we have been blessed with.

So let's get going.

Thank You, God, for this beautiful life you have given us.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:67-7

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

1 Chronicles 16:34

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!
