Enough Light in the Mist

This time of year can bring long, dreary, cloudy, foggy days.

As these dog days of winter drag on, the sky fills with a misty, gray heaviness that leaves us wondering if the light will ever return.

Sometimes, it can be weeks before we see a sunny day.

It's the same with life sometimes, isn’t it?

During the dreary, long days, our visibility diminishes, and we can't see further than what is right in front of us.

But wait. Squint your eyes. Can you see that light ahead?

YES! It's there, just a few more steps ahead. Keep going.

The mist is lifting! Hope is found!

Whew.

The light was there all along. It was only veiled for a brief moment.

Even if we don't see it, we can choose to believe that there will always be enough light to find our way through.

Let this truth fill you with hope today, dear one.

A bright and shiny day is approaching!

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

2 Corinthians 4:18

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
