Free For the Taking

We live in a transactional society.

  • I need it, you'll make it.

  • You sell it, I'll buy it.

  • Buy one, get one free.

  • Sign up to get your offer code.

Everyone's got an angle.

Ads and algorithms are everywhere, and everything, including us, comes at a cost.

But that's not how it works with God.

God freely offers us exactly what we need.

I'm using my best cheesy infomercial voice to tell you about this fantastic offer.

To receive all that God offers, we don't have to be sin-free, cleaned up, and oozing with goody-goody goodness.

All we have to do is love God and let Him love us.

God's love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy are free for the taking.

God's supplies never run out. His inventory is unending.

It's so counterintuitive to our minds to be offered such free generosity.

Don't we have to perform or give up everything and be perfect?

Don't we have to sign a contract that entraps us with the fine print of ridiculous rules and standards?

Nope.

God's love is available for all and is free for the taking.

What do you need today, my fellow seeker of a good deal?

Unconditional love?

Forgiveness?

Comfort?

Peace?

Understanding?

Rest?

Our benevolent God is here with you, ready to give you what you seek.

Call now, the phonelines are open.

All you gotta do is take and receive what He has for you.

You might not get a set of free knives but you will get rest, freedom, joy and peace.

Those probably cut through a lot more stuff anyways.

Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 6: 22-23

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 7: 7-8

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
