High Functioning

I want you to imagine me jumping around you today - pumping you up.

I'm wearing a really nice gray sweatsuit, some comfy tennis shoes, and a white towel around my neck. Heck, just for you, I will put on a super cute elastic sweatband on my head to complete the look.

I'm like one of those older boxing coaches you see in the movies, only cuter.

Ready for your pump-up? Okay, here we go.

You can do this. You are a high-functioning, capable, competent, and wise human being created by God. There is no other creature specifically like you on this earth. Noone. You are one of a kind.

I know you want to give up and get in your corner. You have spent years building up walls and hiding yourself behind them. You have altered yourself and hid who you are so that you wouldn't be hurt.

You believed the lies that you weren't enough - strong enough, smart enough, good enough.

I see those lies swirling around your head, saying you have malfunctioned. There must be a glitch. You can't handle this. Not the way you are. You are not as good as them. You can't beat this.  

You better numb. You better hide. You better run. You better sit down, be quiet, and get back in your corner.

Don't make me punch a guy.

That all ends right now.

Need I remind you of the mucky pit of despair God rescued you from? Don't you remember all you have gotten through with His help?

I mean, think about all that you accomplished and fought for!

Look how far you have come!

It's incredible, isn't it?

Now it's time to take it up a notch, turn up the vibration, and show your stuff.

You are clear and strong and can manage whatever comes your way.

You got what it takes.

You know what to do.

You have been training for this.

There is greatness within you just waiting to come out and show itself.

It's time to love God with everything you got and show the world what He can do.

It is your choice to function at the highest level.  

No more hiding. No more running. No more shrinking. No more comparing. No more numbing.

I want you to look right into the eye of the storm. Stand tall, put your shoulders back, grasp God's hand, and go for it.

God has prepared you for this moment and given you everything you need to be victorious.

Yikes, I'm really fired up over here.

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
