Hold the Line
I'm talking to all the weary warriors today.
When this journey first began, you were filled with hope and optimism.
You received all the words and affirmations from God and believed them to be true.
God said He would protect you and that He would never leave you.
God said He would make a way and that you would be okay.
God said He had plan for you and that He will make a way.
God said that He overcame the world, and so will you.
Whatever words God gave you that helped drive you up and out of the mucky pit of darkness and despair remain strong in their truth and validity.
And yet.
You wait.
You fight.
And, truth be told, you doubt.
Did God really say all that? Is any of this true? Am I crazy?
Oh, how the devil loves to draw us back with doubt.
We can always believe in and rely on God's word, especially when being tested.
And as we wait and fight, we grow stronger in our faith as we hold the line and don't fall back, no matter how much the enemy tries to push us back down with lies, fear, and doubt-riddled nonsense.
Despite what is happening around us, we must dig our heels in, hold the line, keep our faith, and not fall back.
I know you are weary.
I know this is not how you thought things would turn out or how you thought this journey might go.
I know you thought it would have happened already.
I know it is hard to hold tight to God's truth and assurance when the battle is waging, and you can't see beyond the smoky battlefield.
I also know this.
You
Are
Not
Alone
An army surrounds you on both sides as you hold this line.
Look to the left. Look to the right.
As far as your eyes can see, warriors are standing with you, fighting for you and standing firm as they hold the line with you.
I'm right here with you, too, and can see God surrounding us on all sides, protecting and encouraging us to hold the line.
God's word will never lie, and it will never fail you. Cling to His truths in the waiting and testing.
We will hold the line together.
God is with us, always and forever.
Hebrew 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
James 1: 1-4
Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.
Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
