I Love You

Those three precious words - “I LOVE YOU” - are sacred to us, aren't they?

In the past, we reserved these words only for those who earned or deserved them.

We exclusively declared them to our relatives or our partners when a relationship had reached the point of deserving their utterance.

Lately, however, I've noticed many of us are much more willing to say "I Love You," even to someone we barely know.

I, for one, love this.

In our world of social media filled with the sassy spewing of nasty comments and judgments made in isolation without understanding, we need love more than ever.

As the song goes,

"What the world needs now is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of."

I find myself hanging up the phone with someone I am barely acquainted with, saying, "I Love You”, and then thinking, "Oh man, she must think I'm crazy."

But when I think about it, that's just what we need to do. Give our love freely and unabashedly.

Receiving God's unconditional, undeserved love sure changed my life, so why wouldn't I want to give that love to everyone?

Giving love freely and undeservedly can truly change the world.

So today, you say "I Love You" to yourself and as many people as the spirit moves you to tell it to.

Sprinkle that glittery goodness everywhere you can.

God loves you, and so do I.

John 13: 34-35

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.

Psalm 18: 1-3

I love you, Lord, my strength.
