Pertinacious

Fancy title, I know.

Let me explain.

I searched for a word that accurately honors where we are in our journey thus far and this one hit the mark.

Pertinacious describes someone stubbornly tenacious, determined to adhere to an opinion, purpose, or design.

No matter what.

Let me say that again.

No matter what.

God designed us for a purpose, my friend.

And no matter what life throws at us, that fact remains.

Everything that has happened so far can adhere to our purpose and design.

Everything.

The good, the bad, and even the really bad.

I know what you are thinking. I think it, too.

What is this purpose and design that I am so stubbornly and tenaciously adhering to?

I just checked my spam folder, and unfortunately, I still haven't gotten an email from God with specifics on that.

But, this I do know.

The purpose and design of our life is not to let the junk that happens to us and by us destroy us.

We have to stubbornly fight the urge to sit in the muddy muck and surrender to the darkness.

We.

Will.

Not.

Give.

Up.

Our purpose and design can be found by walking with God, hearing His voice, and following Him where He leads.

We will follow the light—one step at a time.

Together, we will fight to find and adhere to the purpose, strength, and lessons in everything.

We trust that God will make a way.

We adhere to His plan, hope, and trust His light will show us the way.

Everything up to this moment is being repurposed for the greatest good.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Psalm 36: 7-9

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Ephesians 5:8-10

You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You're out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.
