Preserved
Remember when we were cowering in that dark corner, lost and alone?
I can recall all too well the lies whispered in our ears - outcast, forgotten, guilty as charged, condemned, beyond help.
Who had we become? How did we get so far away?
In our journey from the ashes, we have crawled up and out from the darkness and despair.
The light shone brightly, and hope returned as God held us in His arms, so glad we had found our way back to Him.
He didn't roll his eyes or shake his finger at us. He didn't look at us with disgust as He saw how far we had strayed from what He intended for us.
God simply embraced us and spent all his time and effort reminding us who we are.
No amount of sin or distance can destroy our identity.
God preserves and protects our identity.
I find that to be the most encouraging thing ever.
God doesn't forget who we are, and He certainly doesn't forget whose we are.
No matter how far you've gone, He remembers.
No matter what you've done, He remembers.
It's us who need reminding.
And when we do remember, all the rest is washed away.
Your holy essence is preserved, my friend.
And that sin and junk that kept you hidden in the dark for so long was all taken away by Jesus.
So you do not need to carry all that with you anymore.
You have not ruined your life, you have not screwed everything up.
Connect with God and let Him remind you of the beauty and power preserved for you.
Listen to His voice and hear God sing over you and remind you who you are.
God is with us always and forever.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Psalm 121: 1-8
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper: The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, Nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
