Carry Me

I fondly remember when my kids were little, and they would look up at me and say, "Mama, carry me."

What a pleasure it was to scoop up those little morsels in my arms and snuggle them close,

Oh, my aching heart.

What I wouldn't give to go back to those precious moments.

I was their safe place.

When they were tired.

When they were scared.

When they were overwhelmed.

When they just needed their Mommy.

Sometimes in my life, I reach up to God in the same way.

And He scoops me up and snuggles me close.

What a relief.

God is always willing to carry us when we need Him the most.

It took me a long time to grasp this concept.

Growing up, I didn't really have people I could rely on to carry me when I needed them.

So I turned elsewhere and gave my trust to those unworthy of it.

More often than not, I had to take care of myself.

When I first started to understand what a relationship with God could look like, it took a lot of practice to reach up to God and allow Him to carry me when I needed Him.

I had to believe He was worthy of my trust and receive the truth that He would be there for me.

Even though I have endured hard things, I have always felt God carrying me and helping me through.

If you are weary or need snuggles, reach up to God.

Let him scoop you up and hold you close.

God is with us always and forever.

Matthew 11: 28-30

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Isaiah 46:4

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you.

I have made you and will carry you; I will sustain you and rescue you.

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
