Revitalized
God's redemption gives us a whole new lease on life.
Knowing that we are enough, just as we are, and that despite our repetitive nonsense, God loves us unconditionally should revitalize our hearts, minds, and souls.
We should be in awe that God is ready and willing to give us a new life and opportunity to begin again. And, of course, sometimes, again and again.
When we first accept God's redemption, we feel invigorated and repurposed.
It takes discipline to stay revitalized.
Every day, we should drop to our knees (slowly and gently, of course) and recall all the ways God has saved and redeemed us.
Think of where we used to be (insert shudder).
Think of all the miracles that have happened along the way.
Think of the divine connections that God sent for your support.
Think of how great it feels to listen to God and do what He encourages you to do.
Living a revitalized life is an incredible privilege and should never be dismissed or taken for granted.
So, what will you do with all this vim and vinegar (yeah, I'm bringing that saying back. Enjoy.)?
I hope you do something wonderful.
I hope it takes you forward and so far from the mucky funk that God first found you in that all of those old things seem like the distant past of another creature.
Because you are indeed a new, revitalized creature.
And you look GOOD, if I may be so bold to say!
Onward and upward, my friend.
Psalm 85: 6-7
Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, Lord, and grant us your salvation.
Psalm 80:19
Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.
Isaiah 57:15
For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite."
