Sufficient Splendor

Pause for a moment and look around at the splendor surrounding you.

So often, in our hustle and bustle, we are heads down, buried in our phones and work, mindlessly making our way through our hurried lives.

Rarely are we looking up or around us to appreciate the wonder and splendor around us.

Only when we take our bits of vacation do we prioritize seeing the sun rise or set, appreciate the architecture around us, or stand in awe as we look at the natural wonders of our world.

You don't have to travel the globe to find the majesty surrounding you.

Even in the mundane of your everyday life, there is so much splendor to behold.

Think of how blessed you are to be alive right now, in this moment.

  • Contemplate the splendid creation of your intricate body, designed in perfection so you can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch all around you.

  • Consider how spectacular it is that we are on this planet, spinning around the universe and not falling off.

  • Think about all the people who have come into your life who have loved, taught, supported, and blessed you.

  • Admire all of God's creation surrounding you - the sun, the clouds, the snow, the trees, the animals, all so splendid to behold.

Don't miss it. Don't rush it. Don't waste it.

It is enough to enjoy the splendor of your life and all that is around you.

As it is. Nothing more.

And oh, what a splendid sight it is to behold.

‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭3‬-‭4‬

“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.”

1 Corinthians 15:41

The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
