The Best of You

For some reason, it is easier for us to focus on the negative than the positive.

We look at ourselves and think sure, I am doing some good things, but I am failing at this, that, or the other thing.

We look at others and overlook the good stuff as we think about what annoys us or what they could be doing better if only they listened to us.

We spend far too much time criticizing ourselves and others in the precious moments of our lives.

But God is no critic.

God sees the best of us through His eyes of love, and from His perspective, we are simply spectacular.

He is offering you nonstop encouragement; not even the most exuberant Soccer Mom could offer this kind of enthusiastic fandom.

It feels fantastic to know that God, the almighty creator of all things, is there, believing in us and seeing us in the light of all we can be.

Can you receive that encouragement today?

Can you let God show you the best of you?

Can you offer that grace to another today?

Can you let God show you how to focus on the best of others?

We are all doing the best we can.

All of us.

Even when you slip and fail when you know better.

Even the ones that frustrate you or believe something different than you do.

We are all trying our hardest to make our way through this journey. And God wants the best for every single one of us.

I see the best in you today, my friend. God has great plans for you, there is no doubt.

You are simply spectacular.

I am so proud of you!

Oh, and just in case you forgot, God loves you, and so do I!

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Psalm 138:8

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.

Philippians 2: 14-15

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”

John 13: 34-35

I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.”
