Underneath It All

I know you wear many hats. 

I'm not talking about ball caps that say "Dog Mom" or wide-rim beach hats that say "Beach Life" in swirly letters.


I'm talking about the various roles we have in our lives:

Daughter/Son

Mother/Father

Sister/Brother

Partner

Friend

Leader

Colleague

Student

Volunteer

Fixer

Helper

Over-doer

Etc.


Each part we play requires us to portray various elements of our personality.  

Sometimes, we shift and change hats so often during the day that we swear we have permanent hat hair and a pinched nerve in our neck.


We play so many parts that we aren't even sure which one is the real us.

But God does.

God knows the real us, not just the roles we play.

Underneath all the hats we wear lies our truest identity.

We are deeply loved children of God.  


We are one-of-a-kind cherished masterpieces - more than enough as we are, even with the hat hair.


That is who we are.


You don't have to buy more hats to achieve that identity. It's already a fact.


Let your hat-free hair blow in the breeze unencumbered, my friend!

I mean, let's be honest; you have way too many hats anyway. Perhaps you should do some Spring Cleaning—some of those are looking pretty worn out.


God created you, knows you, and loves you so much - hat hair and all.


You are magnificent!


God has found you, and He is never, EVER going to let you go.

Ephesians 3: 16-19

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Psalm 139:1-6

Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
