What is Right With People

I mistakenly watched the local "news" for a few minutes last night as they highlighted the worst things happening in our community.

If you spend enough time watching this type of content - which we must be doing because if we weren't, they'd stop doing it - we start to believe the world is a terrible, awful, evil place.

We find ourselves asking, "What is wrong with people?"

Whenever I think or hear that sentence, I feel compelled to do something good to counteract the bad.

I have to do something to prove that:

There is more good than bad.

There is more light than dark.

I cannot sit idly by, I have to do something!

God did not redeem us just for our own good. He did it so that we can move and act to bring good.

We can't just sit here like a lump on a log, secluded in our redemption.

We gotta get out there and help make the world better.

We have to show what is right with people by actively doing the good we want to see in the world.

I may not be able to solve the world's problems, but I can do something.

I want to do something that will make someone say, "Wow, maybe people aren't all bad."

We are the representatives of God. We should take that honor very seriously.

God has done so much for us; now it's our turn to return the favor and show the world what a redeemed child of God can do.

Even one thing could make all the difference.

What'd one thing you could do today?

God is showing us the way; we just have to follow!

Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Galatians 6: 9-10

Let us not become weary of doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
