Secret Service

I want you to imagine an army of angels surrounding you today.

Think of them as your very own Holy Spirit Secret Service Entourage, always ready to protect you.

They are all well-dressed in perfectly tailored suits that are just loose enough should they need to pounce to defend you.

They look extremely serious and focused with their arms folded in front of them - very intimidating.

They have those curly earpieces, and you see them tune in occasionally as they listen to important messages.

God is communicating and sending them messages of wisdom and warning.

The team then sends you those messages.

It's that inner instinct - that little voice within - your soul's epicenter.

Your Holy Spirit Secret Service Entourage surrounds you on every side, and you never, EVER walk alone.

Now that you know they are there and this wisdom and warning service is available, I have one critical instruction for you.

You gotta listen and pay attention.

I can think of many, many times I ignored the messages from my team—designed for my own protection, mind you—sent me. I heard them, don't get me wrong, but I ignored them.

I felt the inner nudge of warning; I heard the whisper of protection telling me to stop or turn back, but did I listen?

Noo. I tuned in to the voices of temptation or pride instead.

I wasn't paying attention or listening to God and the wisdom within and around me that He gave me my protection.

And you can guess how that turned out.

So, as you go about your day today, I want you to imagine yourself surrounded by a team of protectors.

If you are faced with a choice and need help with what to do, stop and listen.

Sometimes, you'll have to wait a while and get quiet. It's hard, I know.

Listen in - what does your entourage have to say about it?

Connect with your instinct - is your Holy Spirit epicenter getting any wisdom or warnings?

Do you feel peace? Do you feel panic?

Do you feel calm? Do you feel confusion?

Do you feel confidence? Do you feel desperation?

I don't know about you, but peace, calm, and confidence sound pretty great.

Getting used to the pause needed to connect with our protective forces takes a while, but it is worth the investment.

We are protected and surrounded by God's forces of wisdom and warning.

God is with us, always and forever.

Psalm 34: 4-7

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Psalm 91: 9-12

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Proverbs 2: 1-6

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
