Sure Enough

When you are on your knees, and the waves are crashing around you, you're stuck in a freeze frame of fear, worry, and hopelessness. You wonder if help is coming and if the stillness will ever return.

But then. You remind yourself of the "Sure Enough" times in your past.

While the water rushes around you, you force yourself to recall the times when you cried out for help and:

  • the job was offered

  • the love appeared

  • the healing came

  • the forgiveness was given

  • the knots untied

  • the child found their way

Sure enough, your solution came, and the calm returned. Looking at the beautiful still waters reflecting the sunlight, you gladly resumed your journey with renewed hope and faith.

How quickly we forget our "Sure Enough" moments.

Today, pause and reflect on those moments in the past when you lost that hope of rescue, but it came nonetheless.

Let your heart fill with gratitude and praise that, sure enough, help has always been given. It is so reassuring to recall how things worked out when you never thought they would.

Be encouraged, my friend; they will again. Sure enough.

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable],

A very present and well-proved help in trouble.

Psalms 62:5

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
