Worth Everything

When my husband and I were dating, he got me the best gift.

It was this green glass globe glued onto a wooden plaque that had "I'd give you the world" engraved on it.

I worked in logistics at the time, so the whole globe thing was on point, not just super romantic. Well done, hubby, well done.

I had that on my desk for YEARS, and it meant so much to me.

It feels fantastic when someone tells you or shows you how much they mean to you.

Grand gestures are lovely, but the small, everyday moments matter just as much.

My family is worth everything to me, though I don't tell them or show them nearly enough.

I have the most amazing friends in the world; I should tell them more often, too.

I take people for granted far too often.

It's usually when something terrible happens that we are reminded of the fragility and magnitude of these relationships.

I'm reminding us today not to wait and to tell those we love and care for how much they mean to us.

God's love means everything to me, and my relationship with Jesus saved me in many ways.

I take that relationship for granted, too, and it's not until a crisis hits that I'm back on my knees, pledging my faith and pleading for help.

And don't even get me started on the relationship with me. My body, mind, and soul are fragile and precious, and I should treat myself in a way worthy of a well-lived life.

If the relationships we have matter so much to us, we should treat them accordingly.

Tell them they are worth everything to you. Show them your love, and don't hold back or take them for granted.

Tell God how much He means to you, give Him your whole heart, and love Him as Jesus loves you.

Show yourself how much you care for you. That sounds silly, I know, but shouldn't we treat ourselves as well as we treat others?

Let's get busy and let those we love (including us) know they are worth everything to us.

If you need a suggestion, I'd start with 'I'd give you the world." Trust me, you can't go wrong with that one.

Matthew 6:26

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Psalm 145:3

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
