Worthy

We have come to the end of this path of Worthy on our journey together.

Our trailway opens to the familiar large circle area, where the roaring fire greets us once more.

This path seemed less intense than those before. So much junk was removed from us before, and this path taught us that the choice is up to us to move forward and live a life worthy of the hard work and sacrifices made for us.

For this time together, we need not burn the lies we have believed.

Today, we must write down and receive the truth of worthiness.

God created us, so, in His eyes, our worth was never in question.

But somewhere along the way, we forgot.

We believed we were not worthy of love, forgiveness, or a second chance at life.

But God never gave up on us.

God's love uncovered the worth within us.

It's now up to us to receive it and believe it.

As we huddle together, we feel the energy rising and sense God's power lifting us to our feet.

Together, we stand around the flames, and we begin to say softly together:

I am worthy.

A little louder now.

We continue saying it louder and louder until we are screaming as tears stream down our faces.

I AM WORTHY!

We are worthy of all the love and forgiveness God can pour into us.

We are worthy of making choices that fill us with pride and excitement.

We are worthy of surrounding ourselves with people who treat us with love and kindness.

We then begin to shout out our love and appreciation to God.

How worthy is God of our love? To be the creator of all of this beauty around us and yet be willing to kneel into the muck to retrieve the lost and forgotten.

How worthy is God of our praise? To be so good, to show us what love looks like, and to bring us home to him time and time again.

Thank you, God, for never giving up on us. Thank you for rescuing us and reminding us how worthy we are because of you.

We get up, gather our things, and look at each other eagerly, ready to continue our journey.

Where to next?

1 Thessalonians 2: 11-12

For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

Romans 5:8

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Psalm 145: 1-3

I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
